Road Trip Day Twenty-Seven

Tough as it was to say goodbye to Zion, we ate breakfast from the cooler, packed up our gear, and hit the road (heading North for a change). Since today was mostly about driving and eating, I'll focus on those. There aren't many towns between Zion and Orem, but Chuck managed to find a diner called El Bambie in Beaver, Utah. The food was okay, but our waitress was a pretty teenager, plus they make their own potato chips, so the boys were happy.

The drive through Utah was picturesque with little traffic, so we made good time, arriving in Provo/Orem by mid afternoon. This gave us plenty of time to enjoy the pool at La Quinta!

Chuck got this great picture of the area near our hotel.

Finally, we were thrilled to discover that one of our all time favorite former South Portland eateries, Costa Vida, is alive and well throughout the great state of Utah.

We ordered up some takeout, and enjoyed nostalgic comfort food in our cozy room. Ahh!

Tomorrow we give up these luxuries and head into the Tetons!
